George Loepfe

George W. Loepfe, 61, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday morning, November 1, 2013, at his home. George was born on July 8, 1952, in Milwaukee, son of George and Jane (Ploeger) Loepfe. He was a 1970 graduate of Cedarburg High School. On June 3, 1972, he married Jean Zwickey in Cedarburg. George was employed as an Application Analyst with Wheaton Franciscan Services in Milwaukee for 23 years. George was a member of the Sheboygan Camera Club and was an avid reader. He enjoyed photography, camping, hiking, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. George is survived by his wife of 41 years, Jean; his two daughters, Liza M. (Steven) Baltzell of Marshfield and Karen J. (Michael) Eliszewski of Belgium; his mother, Elizabeth Loepfe; four grandchildren, Samantha, Travis, Eva, and Isaac Baltzell of Marshfield; one sister, Laura Loepfe of Berthoud, CO; and one brother, Dr. Thomas (Sue) Loepfe of LaCresent, MN. George is also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. George was preceded in death by his father and birth mother. Funeral services to celebrate George's life will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. David Van Dixhorn officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:30 pm until the time of the service at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, and to honor his strong family values, love of nature and literature, a memorial fund has been established in George's name for Bookworm Gardens.
