Garyl VanderPloeg

Garyl J. Vander Ploeg, 60, formerly of Oostburg, died Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility. He was born September 20, 1947 in Sheboygan, the son of the late Gerald and Evelyn (Obbink) Vander Ploeg. Garyl was a graduate of Oostburg High School. He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg. Survivors include two sisters, Charlene (Wayne) Roerdink of Oostburg and Judith (William) Strong of Pella, Iowa; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg, with the Rev. Dr. Les Kuiper. Burial will take place at Oostburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund will be established in his name for Oostburg Christian School.
