Gary William Schlichting, 75, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Anita's Garden of Plymouth. Gary was born on April 18, 1943, in Sheboygan to William and Margaret (Wunsch) Schlichting. He was a 1962 graduate of Plymouth High School. Gary served in the U.S. Army from 1966 until 1968. Gary worked at Tecumseh for 33 years until his retirement in 2000.He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, card playing, farming, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Gary is survived by his two daughters, Susan (Brian) Karstaedt, Kim (Dave) Fraser; two sons, Scott Schlichting, and Daniel Schlichting; seven grandchildren, Mikayla Schlichting, Evan Behnke, Elijah Behnke, Aaron Schlichting, Alyssa Schlichting, Mackenzie Karstaedt, Maridee Fraser; and a brother, Larry Schlichting.Gary was preceded in death by his parents, William & Margaret Schlichting; and a sister, Mary Schlichting.A funeral service to celebrate Gary's life will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Elizabeth Jaeger officiating. A burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. A memorial fund is being established in his name for the Disabled American Veterans Charity.The family would like to extend their thanks to the staffs of Anita's Garden of Plymouth and Serenity Hospice for their compassionate care.
