Gary Edward Robinson, 83, of Oostburg was born to eternal life on Wednesday morning, July 30, 2014 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center in Sheboygan. Gary was born on September 26, 1930 in Binghamton, NY to Otto and Christine (Kinney) Robinson. He was a 1949 graduate of Binghamton North High School. He then attended St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY. Gary served his country from 1953-56 in the US Navy. On July 11, 1953 he married Mae Bloodgood in Chenango Bridge, NY. Gary worked for GE Medical in Pewaukee as a Contract Administrator for ten years until his retirement in 1993. Previously he was a contract administrator for Link Aviation in Binghamton, NY. Gary was a member of First Reformed Church in Oostburg, where he served as an elder, sang in the church choir and was involved with the Young at Heart. Gary was a member of the Oostburg Kiwanis, the American Legion Post 286 and was a Wycliffe volunteer. He enjoyed computers, traveling, gardening, snow skiing, mechanics and golfing. Gary is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mae; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Krome of Oostburg, Amy (Jeffrey) Vincent of Mukwonago; two sons, David (Jessica) Robinson of Menomonee Falls, William (Wendy) Robinson of Princeton; 10 grandchildren, Joshua (Alina) Krome, Rachel Krome, Dylan, Dakota, Dalton, Rylee and Raegan Vincent, Jacob (fiancé Amanda), Jordan and Justin Mason; two great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Hanne Robinson of Sacramento, CA.; a niece, Kathryn (Chaz) Larson of Waconia, MN; a nephew, Paul (Sarah) Robinson of Minneapolis, MN; and two brothers-in-law, Richard Bloodgood of Bradenton, FL and James (Karen) Bloodgood of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Daniel; a brother, Wayne Robinson; and a sister-in-law, Kay Bloodgood. A funeral service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 6 pm with the Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. Military Honors will follow. Burial will take place at the Oostburg Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm. A memorial fund for Wycliffe Bible Translators in Gary's memory is being established.
