Gary Hart

Gary N. Hart, 86, of Kohler, died peacefully at his home on February 15th, 2016. Gary was born in Hayward, California on May 30th, 1929, to George and Ella (Nyhof) Hart. He was a 1946 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. Gary served with the 11th Army Airborne as a paratrooper from 1946 to 1948. On November 25th, 1950, he married the love of his life, Rosaleen Hartmann, in Sheboygan. Rosaleen preceded him in death on September 17, 2012, following 61 years of marriage. Gary was a devoted husband and father, and spent many happy hours planning and enjoying family trips across the country. He was known for his great sense of humor, and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Gary is survived by one son, David (Diane) Hart; two daughters, JoAnn (Carl) Hoel and Linda (Peter) Baalke; six grandchildren Chuck Hart, Mike Hart, Carl Hoel, Linda Hoel, Laura (Jeremy) Willems, John (Leslie) Hart, and two great-grandchildren Lillian and Landon Hart; and his brother Charles Hart. Gary was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rosaleen; his son, Charles (Joanne) Hart; and his sister-in-law, Janet Hart. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 2-4 pm. to celebrate Gary's life. Military honors will follow. A memorial fund has been established in Gary's name, for the benefit of the Friends of Kohler-Andrae State Park, where he and Rosaleen spent many happy hours.
