Frederick Wedepohl

Frederick Edgar Wedepohl, 86, of N5612 Meadowlark Road, Sheboygan Falls, died on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at his home. He was born on October 5, 1922, in Sheboygan, the son of the late Raymond and Myrtha (Dassow) Wedepohl. He was a 1940 Graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On September 3, 1948 he married Alice Mae Thomas in Plymouth. Frederick worked in the Kohler Company for 33 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Grace United Church of Christ in Kohler. He enjoyed the outdoors and his home, where he spent many hours caring for his yard and fish pond. Fritz will always be remembered for never wanting to miss a gathering or event where he could meet and talk with his many friends and family. His very inquisitive nature helped him to never be lacking for a question to be asked! Survivors include one daughter, Janet (Michael) Gehl of Waupun, two sons, Richard (Linda) Wedepohl of Madison and Warren (Kim) Wedepohl of Reedsville, five grandchildren, Tyler and Mary Gehl, Adam, Grant and Marie Wedepohl, two sister-in-laws, Florence Thomas and Leora Thomas both of Plymouth, one brother in law Roland (Heidi) Thomas of West Bend and one sister-in-law, Ardel Wedepohl of Sheboygan Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice and three infant grandchildren, Michael, Jeffrey and Amy Wedepohl. Funeral services for Frederick will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace UCC in Kohler, with the Rev. Tom Schroeder, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Friday, April 3, 2009 from 4 to 8 pm and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established in Frederick's name. Family is especially appreciative of all the wonderful friends and family that helped Frederick enjoy a full and productive life.
