Francis Collins

Francis "Ebb" Collins, 80, of Sheboygan Falls and a longtime Sheboygan resident died unexpectedly at his home on Friday afternoon, August 6, 2010. Ebb was born on February 17, 1930 in Fond du Lac, the son of the late Clarence and Eleanor (Lohry) Collins. He graduated from St. Mary Springs High School in Fond du Lac in 1948. Ebb served in the US Coast Guard during the Korean Conflict. On July 27, 1957, he married the late Donna Jean Becker in Fond du Lac. She preceded him in death on March 27, 2007. Ebb worked as a liquor salesman for Badger Liquor in Fond du Lac for over 25 years before his retirement. He was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Parish in Sheboygan. He was an avid reader and writer, enjoyed playing Sheepshead, fishing, and spending time with his family and many friends. He was a frequent visitor at local libraries. Ebb is survived by two daughters, Sheila Collins of Waukesha and Susan (John) McVey of Hartland; one son, Barry Collins of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Elisabeth and Adrian Arlt, Kristin Amundson, John and James McVey; one sister, Mary of California; one brother, Jim Collins of Alabama; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Collins and Evelyn Stevens, both of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, and one brother, Clarence Collins. A memorial service will be held to celebrate his life at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Noon. Military honors will follow. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home on Wednesday from 11 am until the time of the service at noon.
