Florence Theresa Kaiser

Florence Theresa Kaiser, 79, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2022.

Florence was born on March 27, 1943, to Albin and Myrtle (Brunke) Filtzkowski in Wausau. She graduated from Edgar High School in 1961. Florence was united in marriage to James Kaiser on July 4, 1964, in Edgar, Wisconsin.

Florence was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Sheboygan. She enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, sewing, and baking.

Florence enjoyed a multi-faceted career.  She worked at Marathon Cheese, Kohler Company and Wigwam Mills before she opened her own bakery business – Flo’s Back Porch Bake Shop in 1980.  For 35 years, she contributed a special part to each event she made a cake for.  She enjoyed making cakes for many family events and especially for her grandchildren. 

Florence is survived by her husband of 58 years, James; daughters, Kim (Jeff) DeRuyter of Cedar Grove and Kristi (Jon) Burgard of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren, Kaylee (Blake) Britzke, Alexis DeRuyter (Anthony Pawling), Amie Burgard, Ryan Burgard; great-grandson, Lane Britzke; sisters, Delores (Dan) Wanta, Mary (Jeff) Wolfe, Eileen (Duane) Kruzitski; sisters-in-law, Helen Filtzkowski, Marilyn Hack, Paulette Lang, Barbara (Ed) Solinsky, Laurie Kaiser; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Emily) Kaiser, Ed (Elizabeth) Kaiser, Clifford (Joyce) Stencil; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws; brother, David Filtzkowski; sister-in-law, Sharon Stencil; and brothers-in-law, Louis Hack and Mark Kaiser.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church (2133 N. 22nd Street, Sheboygan) on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 12:00pm. Entombment will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Relatives and friends may greet the family at church on Friday, January 6, from 4:00 to 7:00pm and again at church on Saturday, from 11:00 to the time of service.

Memorials are appreciated in Florence’s name.
