Fern M. Kalmerton, 79, of 650 Western Ave., Sheboygan Falls, died Sunday morning, May 18, 2008 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Fern was born November 5, 1928 in Sheboygan, the daughter of the late Harry and Olive (Price) Fett. She was a 1946 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On September 13, 1947 she married the late Warren J. Kalmerton in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1997. Fern worked at the Sheboygan Co. Highway Dept. from 1975 until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Suzanne (Ronald) Pierce of Sheboygan Falls; two sons, Michael (Beth) Kalmerton of Clearwater, Florida, Steven Kalmerton of Oshkosh; four grandchildren, Aaron (Talia) Kalmerton, Tim (Megan) Wilbert, Paul Wilbert and Stacy Thede; four great grandchildren; one sister, Irma Adler of Sheboygan Falls; and one brother-in-law, Philip Hermann of Sheboygan. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one granddaughter, Katlin Kalmerton, two sisters, Shirley Hermann and Gladys Dickey. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 11 am at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls, with the Rev. Donald Drollinger, officiating. Burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 am until the time of the service at 11 AM. A memorial fund will be established in her name for Faith United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be sent to wenig@wenigfuneralhome.com. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to the dedicated staff at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the loving care given to Fern and her family.
