Evelyn Woods

Evelyn A. Woods, 89, of Sheboygan, born to eternal life on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Countryside Manor. Evelyn was born on November 27, 1921 in Sheboygan, daughter of Walter and Matilda (Kopplinger) Lange. She attended Sheboygan Central High School and Sheboygan Vocational School. In 1964 she married Julius Sonnenfeld in Sheboygan. Julius passed away in May of 1968. Evelyn married Francis Woods in September of 1972. Francis passed away on April 16, 2007. Evelyn was employed with the Vollrath Company as a welder during WW II. She also worked for the Ellinger Company. Evelyn was a member of St. Peter Claver Church in Sheboygan. She was a gifted seamstress and enjoyed baking. Evelyn is survived by six nieces and nephews, Richard Winscher of Sheboygan, Thomas (Judy) of Beaver Dam, Mary (Louis) Jumes of Sheboygan, Joseph (Mary) Winscher of Sheboygan, Ann (Dan) Nohl of Wauwatosa and John (Kris) Winscher of Sheboygan; numerous great-nieces and nephews and a cousin Ruth Dwyer of Eau Claire. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her 1st and 2nd husbands, her sister, Marion (Harold) Winscher, and her infant brother. Funeral services to celebrate Evelyn's life will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Deacon Michael Burch officiating. Private burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am. A memorial fund has been established in Evelyn's name for the Salvation Army.
