Evelyn DeBlaey

Evelyn "Evie" (Heinen) DeBlaey, age 88, a resident of Gables on the Pond in Random Lake went home to the Lord on Monday, August 3, 2015. Evelyn was born on April 21, 1927 in the town of Lima to Benjamin and Anna (TenPas) Heinen. She went to Hillcrest School then attended Oostburg High School. On August 31, 1946 she married Milton Mayer and they had four sons together. She married Ross Sevener on February 9, 1990 in Sherman Center, he preceded her in death on December 3, 1992. She married Allan DeBlaey on April 15, 1994 at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. They lived in Random Lake until he passed away on February 28, 2014. Evelyn worked for 25 years as an assembler for Musebeck Shoe Factory then worked for several restaurants. Evelyn was a member of Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove, where she participated in Martha's Society. Evelyn loved to cook. The family was always treated to a feast and she made sure there were plenty of leftovers to take home. She enjoyed traveling and went on many bus trips, working in her gardens, both flowers and vegetables that she would can. Evelyn is survived by her four sons, James Mayer of Appleton, Robert (Doris) Mayer of Random Lake, Richard Mayer of Oshkosh and Jeffrey Mayer of San Diego, CA; five step children; seven grandchildren, Dena, Diana (John), Jennifer, Tracy (Chad), Heather, Jacob and James; and four great grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Blake and Brianna. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; her infant granddaughter, Nicole Mayer and 6 brothers and sisters, Marion (Roland) Claerbaut, Jeanette Heinen, Cynthia (Harold) Hopeman, Mildred (Harry) Hoitink, Edward (Jenieve) Heinen, Earl (Margaret) Heinen and Ellsworth (Phyliss) Heinen. A funeral service to celebrate Evelyn's life will be on Friday August 7, 2015 at 4pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg with Rev. Steve Wood officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery on Random Lake Road. Relatives and friends may gather on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Wenig Funeral Home from 2pm until the time of service at 4pm.
