Evelyn E. Brooke

Evelyn E. Brooke, formerly of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Cedar Grove Gardens. She was 94 years old. 

Evelyn was born July 9, 1929, the daughter of Fred and Lillian (Dickmann) Kaeser. She grew up in Cascade, and worked at Vollrath Company, and as a cleaner for Peter and Nancy Kohler in her younger years. 

On May 15, 1948, she was united in marriage with Norman W. Brooke. The couple celebrated 49 years together before his passing in 1997.

Evelyn was a longtime member of Zion United Church of Christ. She and Norman enjoyed time spent with their friends at the Once A Month Dancing Club, and polka dancing every Sunday.  They looked forward to family gatherings and being with their extended families. 

An outdoors lover, Evelyn enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, mowing the lawn and snow blowing. She took great pride in her independence, and maintained her yard into her 90’s. 

Evelyn is survived by her son Randy Brooke (Deb Wolter), grandchildren Trent (fiancé Brooklyn), Dena, Joy, and Jessica; great-grandson Theo; brother Calvin Moths; sisters-in-law Myrtle and Audrey Moths; other relatives and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Norman, son Charles Brooke, daughter-in-law Debra Brooke and siblings: Norbert Kaeser, Al Kaeser, Carlos Moths, Marvin Moths and Mable Moths.

A Memorial Service celebrating Evelyn’s life will be held at 4:00PM on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Wenig Funeral Home, 711 Broadway Ave. in Sheboygan Falls. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00-4:00PM.

She will be laid to rest beside Norman at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
