Eunice Tempas

Eunice J. Tempas, 91, a longtime resident on Western Avenue in Sheboygan Falls died on Saturday afternoon, December 18, 2010 at Pine Haven Christian Home where she had resided for the past four years. Eunice was born on April 15, 1919 in the Town of Holland, the daughter of the late Arthur and Jennie (Nyenhuis) Ackermann. She graduated from the Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove in 1936. On November 5, 1942 she married Fred J. Tempas in Cedar Grove. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1984. Eunice was a devoted homemaker and also worked as a beautician for several years at the Claerbout Beauty Shop and Pine Haven Christian Home. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls. She enjoyed rug braiding, knitting, and crafts. Eunice is survived by two daughters, Dr. Christine Tempas of Sheboygan Falls, and Joyce (Dr. David) Alfery of Nashville, TN; one son, Jeff Tempas of Oostburg; and three granddaughters, Allison, Dr. Janna, and Kimberly Alfery; and three sisters-in-law, Eileen Tempas, Marian Tempas, and Ruth Buehler, all of Sheboygan Falls. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; three sisters, Evelyn (Kris) Kreunen, Norma (John) Claerbout, Alyda (Erwin) Meylink; and one brother, Louis (Melita) Ackermann. Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 6 pm with the Revs. Brad Veenendaal and David VanDixhorn officiating. Burial will take place at Hingham Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Friends may greet the family at the First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday from 4 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm.
