Eunice J. Bruggink, 94, formerly of Oostburg died on Thursday morning, October 2, 2008 at Pine Haven Christian Home. Eunice was born on March 22, 1914 in the Town of Holland, the daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine (TeRonde) Oonk. She graduated from Oostburg High School in 1932. On October 23, 1935 she married the late Reuben Bruggink in Oostburg. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1999. Eunice was a waitress at the Knotty Pine Restaurant in Oostburg for over 25 years. Eunice was a member of the First Reformed Church in Oostburg, the Ladies Guild and the Mission Circle. She also attended the Oostburg Senior Citizens. Eunice enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sports spectating, card playing and spending winters in Florida with her husband. She cherished the time at her cottage and the time that she could spend with her family. Eunice is survived by one daughter, Marcia Bruggink of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two sons, Carl (Judy) Bruggink of Clintonville, and Roger (Adilee) Bruggink of Spokane, Washington; six grandchildren, Lorilei (Duane) Brandenburg, Melanie (Brad) Westrick, Marlene Bruggink, Sheri (Mike) Jirschele, Jeff (Maria) Bruggink, and Steve Bruggink; twelve great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Elfie DeZwarte of Pine Haven Christian Home; and one brother-in-law, Ronald Bimmel of Sheboygan. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben; three sisters, Beatrice Bloemers, Margaret Bimmel, and Bernice Hilbelink; and one brother, Melvin Oonk. Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church in Oostburg at 1:30 pm on Monday, October 6, 2008 with the Rev. Brian Taylor officiating. A family service will precede at 1:15 pm in the fellowship hall. Burial will follow at the Oostburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 11:30 am until the time of the service.
