Eugenie Manthey, 83, of Sheboygan died on Friday morning, October 31, 2014 at the Azura Memory Care where she had resided. Eugenie was born on August 3, 1930 in Germany, the daughter of Eugene and Paula (Schon) Stockinger. She immigrated to the United States and became a US citizen on January 16, 1956. On January 21, 1959 she married Clarence Meyer. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1985. She married Lawrence Manthey on August 27, 1994 in Sheboygan Falls. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2012. Eugenie worked for General Box Co. before her retirement. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and the D Werdenfelser Schuhplatters Folk Dancing Club. She enjoyed cross country skiing, painting, crafts, bird watching, and cooking. Eugenie is survived by two step-daughters, Sandy (Pat) Finnerty of Middleton and Mary Lou Ellinghausen of New Berlin; a brother, Franzel (Gerlinde) Stockinger of Germany, nieces and nephews, Ramona Eisner of Menomonee Falls, Anthony (Teresa) Eisner and David Eisner, both of Sheboygan, and Robert Eisner of Tucson, AZ, Petra Wilhelm, Andrea Mohry, Klause Stockinger, Herta Kreuzhuber, Joeshin Maier, Eugenie Trotsch, and Heddy, all of Germany; and three cousins, Marie Burgess, Marlene Stockinger, and Al (Rosie) Reiter. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Eugenie was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Clarence Meyer and Lawrence Manthey; one sister, Paula Eisner; and one brother, Joseph (Hedwig) Stockinger. A funeral to celebrate Eugenie's life will take place at the Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 12pm (noon) with the Rev Bob Lotz officiating. Entombment will take place at the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan. Family and friends may call at the church on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 10am until the time of the Mass at 12pm. A memorial fund is being established in her memory for the Alzheimer's Association.
