Surrounded by family, Eugene "Cricket" Seibel, age 79, of Sheboygan Falls completed his life journey on February 13, 2016 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. He was born April 6, 1936 in Fond du Lac to Ervin & Esther Baganz Seibel. After attending Campbellsport schools, Eugene enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea. Eugene married Rosemary Struebing on June 13, 1959 and they later moved to Sheboygan Falls. Eugene was employed at the Kohler Company for 43 years and a member of the Sheboygan Falls Fire Department for 21 years. He belonged to the Kohler Quarter Century Club and in earlier years was active with the Boy Scouts program. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing softball, bowling and cheering for the Packers. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Rosemary, son and daughter-in-law David and Mary Seibel, daughter and son-in-law Diane and Joseph Georgetta, and daughter Christine Steinke and her friend William Brink, grandson Benjamin Seibel, brother-in-law Robert (Joan) Struebing, and sister-in-law Carolyn Struebing. He is also survived by a stepsister Joyce Streeter, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother Edna Seibel, brother Melvin Seibel, father and mother-in-law Wilmer and Esther Struebing, stepbrothers Lloyd Menge and Ken Streeter, sister-in-law Irene Menge, brother-in-law Ralph Struebing and nephew Jeffrey Struebing. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 18 at 3:00 p.m. at Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls, WI with Pastor Marianne Brandt officiating. A visitation will be on Thursday, February 18 at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Eugene Seibel.
