Esther Sebald

Esther Ruppel Haese Sebald, 85, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 17, 2011 at her home. Esther was born on December 20, 1925 in Sheboygan, daughter of Frederick, Sr. and Marie (Markgraf) Ruppel. She was a 1944 graduate of Sheboygan Central High School. On October 5, 1946 she married LeRoy John Haese at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. LeRoy preceded her in death on December 13, 1954. She married Richard Arthur Sebald on July 4, 1959 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Richard preceded her in death on October 24, 1988. Esther attended Ebenezer Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed and married. She also attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Esther enjoyed walking, shopping, garage sales and spending time with her family. Esther was survived by one daughter, Linda (Brian) Haese Langum of Plymouth; three sons, David (Patti) Haese of Plymouth, Richard (Roxann) Sebald of Rochester, MN and Daniel Sebald of Lake Forest, IL; seven grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Haese, Jodi (Troy) Wagner, Steven (Michelle) Sebald, Amanda (Alex) Bigus, Genna, Leigh and Eric Langum; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Van de Kreeke of CA; two sisters-in-law, Mildred Ruppel of MD and Jean Sebald of Sheboygan Falls, Esther is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husbands LeRoy and Richard; five brothers; Frederick, Jr., Edward, Henry, David and Clarence Ruppel; four sisters, Marie Sohn, Pauline Van Calligan, Emilie Maass and Emma Gilberg; and two infant brothers. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls. Private interment. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Esther's name for St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.
