Esther Lohuis

Esther Lohuis, 80, of Sheboygan Falls, died on Saturday afternoon, August 3, 2013 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. Esther was born on March 3, 1933 in the Town of Holland, the daughter of the late Arthur and Rosa (Gessner) Glander. She graduated from Random Lake High School in 1951 and was married to Norbert Lohuis on May 12, 1951 in Random Lake. Esther worked at Gilson Mfg, West Bend Co., Simplicity, Snap on Tools, Times Printing, and Krier Foods. Esther was a lifelong member at St. John UCC in Random Lake, the American Legion Auxiliary # 145, and the La Societe de Femme, Cabane Locale # 1080, Grande Cabane of Wisconsin. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, quilting, crossword puzzles, playing cards and dominoes. Esther is survived by her husband of 62 years, Norbert of Sheboygan Falls; three daughters, Linda (Gary) Stowe of Oshkosh, Sherri (Gary) Huenink of Clarksville, TN, Kelly (Robert) Luce of West Bend; eight grandchildren, Rachel (Kevin) Dehne, Troy Stowe, Bobbi Jo Huenink, John (Jennifer) Huenink, Brandi (Jimmy) Hardwick, Specialist Emily (Will) Goldspink, Benjamin Luce and Nicolaas Luce; four great grandchildren, Hailey and Jack Hardwick, and Brett Huenink and Henley Huenink; two brothers, Elmer (Mary) Glander of Phoenix, AZ and Allen (Patricia) Glander of Lowell, OR; two sisters-in-law, Alice "Mickie" Glander of Sheboygan Falls, and Janice Lohuis of Sheboygan; one brother-in-law, Merlin Rusch of Sheboygan. Esther was preceded in death by five sisters, Myrthe (Carl) Liermann, Verna Glander, Meta (Lloyd) Wernecke, Gladys (Earl) Hahn, Ruth Glander; two brothers, Norman (Marian) Glander, Willard Glander; a sister-in-law, Reginia Rusch; and two brothers-in-law, Donald (Shirley) Lohuis and Earl Lohuis. A celebration of Esther's life will take place at St. John United Church of Christ in Random Lake on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at 3 pm with the Revs. Jami Scott and Daniel Kuckuck officiating. Family and friends will gather at St. John UCC, located at 98 Random Lake Road in Random Lake on Sunday from 1-3 pm.
