Ernst Lewin

Ernst "Ernie" A. Lewin, 86, of Waldo, passed away Friday, June 10, 2011, at Meadow View Manor in Sheboygan. Ernie was born March 18, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI to Ernst and Adela (Martins) Lewin. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. On November 20, 1948, he married Betty Abraham at First Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cedarburg. Ernie was a truck driver for over 30 years and retired due to health concerns. Ernie was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell. He was a volunteer fireman for the Adell Fire Department and was a member of the American Legion. Ernie loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed playing cards, reading, gardening, and lawn care. Ernie is survived by his: wife, Betty; two sisters, Ruth (Murray) Heidtke of Grafton and Millie Severson of Appleton; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Bob) Hillmann of Cedarburg and Marilyn (Skip) Hennings of Wauwatosa; two brothers-in-law, Fritz (Betty) Abraham and William (Sandra) Abraham, both of Superior; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Ernie was preceded in death by his: parents; son, Robert; two sisters; four brothers. Funeral services to celebrate Ernie's life will be at 1:30 pm on Friday, June 17, 2011, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Adell with Rev. Christopher Seifferlein officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Sherman. Relatives and friends may call from 11:30 am until the time of the service Friday at the church.
