Eric M. Felsinger, 34, of W3103 Hoitink Road, Cedar Grove, died peacefully on Thursday morning, January 29, 2009 at his home, after a long battle with cancer. Eric was born October 9, 1974 in Sheboygan, the son of Alan and Ellen (Jensen) Felsinger. Eric graduated from Random Lake High School in 1993; additionally he completed his journeyman bricklayer apprenticeship in 2000 at Lakeshore Technical College. On May 9, 1998 Eric married the former Jackie Smies at her parent's home in Hingham. Eric held various construction jobs from 1993 to 2000 and from 2000 to 2005, he was a union bricklayer. Since 2005, he was employed by the Sheboygan County Highway Department. Eric was a member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. Along with this, he enjoyed volunteering his time to help supply for the needs of God's Kidz in the Hood. He was a member of the Sauk Trail Conservation Club. He enjoyed cleaning and repairing guns, hunting, fishing, remodeling, various fix-it projects, nights in the man cave, and preparations each spring for the annual Campyland on Memorial Day weekend. He also enjoyed annual family summer vacations, hunting trips, and above all spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Jackie, three children at home; Haley (10), Ellie (7), and Sam (5); his mother, Ellen Jensen of Sheboygan; his father, Alan Felsinger of Sheboygan; his sister, Heidi Felsinger-Fredrichsen of Sheboygan; paternal grandmother, Rose Felsinger of Sheboygan Falls; father-in-law, Andrew Smies of Hingham and special friend Betty Polster of Oostburg; two sisters-in-law, Jean (Kevin) Harmeling and Jennie (Scott) Prinsen, both of Cedar Grove; one brother-in-law, Mike (Diane) Smies of Hingham. He is further survived by his nieces and nephews. Eric is preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Jane Smies. Friends may call at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Friday, January 28, 2009 from 3-8 pm and on Saturday from 9 am until the time of the service. Funeral Services will be held at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 11 am with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will follow at Oostburg Cemetery.
