Elwin Andre

Elwin W. Andre, 81, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at his home following complications of heart disease. Elwin was born on September 24, 1929 in the Town of Meeme in Manitowoc County, son of the late Fred and Emma (Albrecht) Andre. He attended Mineral Springs School in the Town of Meeme. On June 3, 1947 he married Thecla J. Faust in Dubuque, IA. Thecla preceded him in death on April 30, 1998. Elwin was employed with Curt G. Joa, Inc. as a night watchman for many years and then worked for NAPA Auto Parts, retiring in 2005. Elwin was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. Elwin loved his family, and spending time with them over dinner and a good game of cards. Elwin's hobbies included camping, woodworking, carving, and going to Bluegrass shows with Evie, Jim, Al, and Dennis. Elwin is survived by three daughters, Carol J. Herman, Phyllis (Roger) Wolff both of Sheboygan Falls, Cheryl (Brian) Burton of Cleveland and; one son, Stanley (Linda Sprengel) Andre of Sheboygan Falls; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, David Krepsky of Sheboygan; a sister, Bernice Petanovich of CA and other relatives and friends. Elwin was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Thecla and his daughter, Dianne J. Krepsky, son-in-law Larry W. Herman, brother, Norman Andre and numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 5:00 pm at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Private inurnment will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call from 3:00 pm until the time of Mass Friday at the church.
