Elsie Krizenesky-Dassow

Elsie E. (Behnke) Krizenesky-Dassow, 95, of Sheboygan, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Cedar Grove Gardens. Elsie was born on September 13, 1915 in Lena, WI, daughter of Charles and Bertha (Seefeldt) Behnke. On January 12, 1957 she married Henry Dassow at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler. Henry preceded her in death on November 15, 2003. Elsie was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler. She loved spending time with her family, cooking, baking, gardening and canning, sewing, crafting, polka dancing, and playing sheephead. Elsie is survived by two daughters, Rosemary Hickmann of Sheboygan and Betty (Rod) Deckert of Sheboygan; three sons, Robert (Cynthia) Krizenesky of Rhinelander, Allen (Donna) Krizenesky of Peshtigo and John (Marilyn) Krizenesky of Elkhart Lake; three step-daughters, Sharon Bartzen of Sheboygan, Verna (Walter) Schelk of Wausaukee, and Jane Dassow of Green Bay; one step-son, Del (Shirley) Dassow of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren. Elsie is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Henry, one son LaMont Dassow, two grandchildren, John Krizenesky and Kevin Bartzen, three sisters and seven brothers. Funeral services to celebrate Elsie's life will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 10:30 am at Bethany Lutheran Church in Kohler with Rev. Robert Steele officiating. Interment will take place in Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 4-7 pm and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. A memorial fund has been established in Elsie's name. Elsie's family would like to give special thanks to Edie Krizenesky and the staff at Cedar Grove Gardens for their wonderful care and compassion.
