Elroy Ziemer

Elroy Edgar Ziemer, 78, of 1730 North 38th Street, Sheboygan, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee. Elroy was born on June 24, 1931 in Shawano, WI, son of the late Cecelia (Grover) Behling. He was a 1950 graduate of Shawano High School and served in the US Navy on the USS Mindoro from 1951 until 1955. On July 8, 1957 he married Marion LeFebvre. Marion preceded him in death on June 21, 2000. Elroy was employed with the Kohler Company for 39 years where he worked in the enamel shop until his retirement in 1993. Elroy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and carpentry. Elroy was known to his family as "Mr. Fix-It". He received a service award in Manual Arts at Shawano High School. Elroy loved spending time with his family and friends. Pa Z will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and his amazing gardens. Survivors include three daughter, Donna Worfel of Green Bay, Diane (Mike) Mertes of Hingham, and Patti (Mark) Beyer of Sheboygan; sone son, Daniel Ziemer of Sacramento, CA; nine grandchildren, Lindy, Ryan (Abby), Chrysta, Amanda, Sara, Angela, Kyle, Crystal, and Randy; and other relatives and friends. Elroy was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Marion. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2009 at 3:00 pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Mark Wilkens officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson with military honors. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 until the time of the service at 3:00. A memorial fund has been established in Elroy's name.
