Elmer Pierce

Elmer Clare Pierce, 83, of Cedar Grove, passed away on September 15, 2014 at Cedar Grove Gardens. Elmer was born on May 31, 1931 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, twin son of Elmer and Mabel (Wheaton) Pierce. He served his country in the US Army. On October 14, 1961, he married Carol Jean De Frain in Milwaukee. Carol passed away on June 1, 2001. Elmer was employed with American Motors and the Kelch Corporation. After he retired he was a greeter at Wal-Mart in Saukville. Elmer enjoyed fishing, the Green Bay Packers, and holidays at the Thompson's. He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Wolke; one step-daughter, Sherry Pierce; two sisters, Margaret "Marge" Blodgett and Gertrude "Mikki" (Herbert) Bauer; a brother-in-law, Jim De Frain; a special friend, Carol Moeller; and a good friend, Zaida Thompson and her family. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Elmer was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Carol, his parents, one son, Alan Pierce; two step-sons, Terry Wolke and Guy Wolke; two sisters, Miloine "Molly" (James) Mosher and Elizabeth Pierce; one brother, Jack (Bernadine) Witkowski; one sister-in-law, and two brothers-in-law, and friend, Jesse Thompson. A memorial service to celebrate Elmer's life will be on Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg at 3pm with Rev. Joe Brath officiating, followed by military honors. Relatives and friends may call upon the family at the funeral home on Friday, September 26, 2014 from 2pm until the time of service at 3pm. A memorial fund has been established in Elmer's name.
