Ellsworth Veldboom

Ellsworth "Bud" H. Veldboom, 84, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Lukes Medical Center in Milwaukee. Bud was born on January 19, 1926 in the Town of Belgium in Ozaukee County, son of the late Alwin and Johanna (Wieberdink) Veldboom. On August 20, 1947 he married Ruth Ione DeBlaey at Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg. Bud farmed for 20 years and then worked as a machinist for Hayssen Manufacturing and then Koehring Company (Trak International) for 25 years until his retirement in 1991. Bud was a member of Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove. He was also a member of the Cedar Grove Sportsman's Club. Bud loved to hunt and fish, spend time around his pond and enjoyed coffee with his friends. Bud also received his machinist certification from Lakeshore Technical College. Bud is survived by his wife of 62 years, R. Ione; his daughter, Ruth (Lee) Olson of Suwanee, GA; four sons, Lee (Karen) Veldboom of Waukesha, Terry (Robin) Veldboom of Rifle, CO, Roy Veldboom of Appleton, Tim (fiance' April Thrift) Veldboom of Sheboygan; seven grandchildren, Bryan (Jenny) Veldboom, Laura (Jason) Passehl, Alicia Veldboom, Elizabeth Veldboom, Rachael Veldboom, Eric Olson and Sally Olson; two great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Jaiden; one sister-in-law, Vivian Veldboom of Sheboygan Falls. Bud is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Bud will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove with the Rev. Ronald L. Beabout officiating. Burial will take place in Presbyterian Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm and also at the church on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
