Elizabeth M. Neerhof, 102, of Sheboygan Falls formerly Oostburg, went peacefully home to her Lord with her family beside her, on Monday, June 29, 2009 at Pine Haven Christian Home. Elizabeth was born on July 19, 1906 in the Town of Rhine, daughter of the late Louis and Emma (Miller) Daniel. She was a 1926 graduate of Elkhart Lake High School. On August 7, 1930 she married Dirk J. Neerhof in the Town of Herman. Dirk preceded her in death on September 13, 1989. Elizabeth was a member of Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was active in the Mission Society. She was also a member of Sheboygan County Homemakers and the Lakeview 4-H Club. Elizabeth was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, and needlework. She also enjoyed watching Lawrence Welk and was always willing to help others. Elizabeth is survived by one daughter, Donna (Jerome) Sommer of West Bend; two sons, Ray (Frances) Neerhof of Spokane, WA, and Daniel (Marilyn) Neerhof of Waldo; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, Jay (Donna) Sommer of Granton, and their children, Elizabeth, Daniel and Margaret; Julie (Richard) Mett of Cedarburg, and their children, Aaron, Carl, and Catherine, Christopher (Traci) Neerhof of Chesapeak, VA, and their son, Garret, Terri (Bryan) Schultz of Jericho, VT, and their children, Hannah and Derrek, Todd (Lisa) Neerhof of Colgate, WI, and their children, Nathan and Madelyn; one sister-in-law, Frances Daniel Hoffmann, of Sky Valley, CA; and one cousin, William (Roberta) Goetsch of Yorba Linda, CA. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Dirk; her grandson Dean John; a infant granddaughter; 3 brothers, Lee Jacob, Louis Alvin, and Thomas Edward Daniel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove, with the Rev. Ron Beabout officiating. A family service will be held at 1:45 pm. Burial will take place at the Oostburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from noon until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Calvary OPC.
