Elinore M. Gesch, 87, of 218 West Willow Ave., Cedar Grove went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, April 15, 2011, at the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. Elinore was born on November 2, 1923, in Oostburg, the daughter of Louis and Jennie (Nyenhuis) Voskuil. Elinore graduated from Cedar Grove High School in 1941 and then graduated from the Sheboygan County Teacher College in 1943. She taught elementary school in several Town of Holland country schools. On April 10, 1943, Elinore married Wilfred Gesch Sr. in Cedar Grove. Elinore was a lifelong and faithful member of the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Bible Class teacher, and was a member of the Missionary Society and the choir. She was also a member of the Weavers Guild and the Cedar Grove Library Auxiliary. She enjoyed writing, flower gardening and traveling. Elinore was a devoted homemaker and devoted her life to her Lord, husband, and children. Elinore is survived by her husband, Wilfred Gesch Sr. of Cedar Grove; five sons, Rev. Wilfred (Kay) Gesch Jr. of Cedar Grove; Curtis (Betsey) Gesch of Telkwa, BC; Jeffrey (Jerilyn) Gesch, Brian (Kathy) Gesch and Kevin (Gwen) Gesch all of Cedar Grove; 20 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one sister, Nelda Voskuil of Cedar Grove; one brother, Dr. Louis (Audrey) Voskuil of Hixon, Tennessee; nieces and nephews. Elinore was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a grandson, Jeffrey Gesch; one sister, Harriet Voskuil; four brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law. A funeral to celebrate Elinore's life will take place at the Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Cedar Grove on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at 10:30 am with the Rev. Ronald Beabout officiating. A family service will precede at 10:15 am in the choir room. Burial will take place at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Monday from 3-8 pm, and on Tuesday, at church, from 9:30 am until the time of the family service at 10:15 am.
