Elfriede Weckwerth

Elfriede A. Weckwerth, 87, of Prairie Crossing and Pine Haven residential in Sheboygan Falls, went home to her Lord on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Friede was born on September 29, 1924 near Montello, in the Town of Shields, Marquette County, Wisconsin, daughter of Fredrick and Elizabeth (Duesterhoeft) Zuehls. She grew up on a farm and attended Warm Bier Grade School in the Town of Shields. On June 12, 1949 she married Alden A. Weckwerth in Montello. Alden passed away on June 3, 1996. Friede was a longtime and active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, the Ladies Auxiliary, funeral committee, the Quilters, and the Senior's group. She was a former member of the Homemakers Club, St. Nicholas Hospital Auxiliary, and the Sheboygan Falls Campfire Girls. Friede enjoyed camping at Lofty Pines in St Germain, gardening, fishing, traveling, cooking and baking. Friede is survived by her daughter, Karen (Dan) Dahlke of Brandon, WI; her son, Gary (Marlene) Weckwerth of Sheboygan Falls; two grandchildren, Andrea (Jason) Berlin and Leah Weckwerth; two great grandsons, Cooper and Riley Berlin. Friede is also survived by four sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law; many nieces and nephews. Friede was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alden; and one brother, Fred (Everdeen) Zuehls. A funeral service to celebrate Friede's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Donald Hasse officiating. Entombment will be at the Garden of Peace Mausoleum in the Town of Sheboygan. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 5:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Friede's name for St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund and the St. Paul Quilters.
