Edward Sheets

Edward L. Sheets, 69, of Hingham, died with his wife at his side on Saturday night, May 5, 2012, while at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in the Town of Lima. Ed was born on October 13, 1942, in Springfield, OH, the son of the late Harry and Eva (Wunderly) Sheets. He graduated from Menasha High School in 1960. On April 3, 1993, Ed married Marcia (Drobac) Davis in Batavia. Ed was a printer with Times Printing in Random Lake for 14 years from 1989 until his retirement in 2004. Following his retirement Ed worked on the grounds crew at Blackwolf Run in Kohler. Ed was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and collecting golf memorabilia. Ed always looked forward to spending time attending his grandchildren's activities. Ed is survived by his wife, Marcia "Marcy"; two daughters, Debra (Mike) Sheets and Kimberly Reckert, both of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter-in-law, Cinde Sheets of Walworth; eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one brother, Harry (Linda) Sheets of Brunswick, GA; his mother-in-law, Donna Drobac of Cedarburg; two step daughters, Jacqueline (Kelvin) Hinz of Adell and Kristina Fisher of Milwaukee; one step son, Robert (Elizabeth) Davis of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his son, Edward Sheets; his parents; and an infant sister, Pauline Sheets. A memorial service to celebrate Ed's life will be held at 6 pm on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia with the Rev. Gail J. Mitchell officiating. Inurnment will take place at Zion Cemetery in the Town of Scott. Friends and family may gather at the Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia on Friday from 3 pm until the time of the service at 6 pm.
