Edna G. Meerdink, 93, formerly of Cedar Grove died Tuesday morning, May 16, 2006 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls where she had resided for the past six years. Edna was born on September 6, 1912 in the Town of Holland, the daughter of the late Christ and Johanna (Kolste) Neerhof. She attended Lakeview School. On March 14, 1934 she married the late Erwin Meerdink in the Town of Holland. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1965. Edna was a longtime member at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and the Missionary Society. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking, baking, and quilting. Edna is survived by two daughters, Linda (Duane) Jensema and Doris Buyze both of Cedar Grove; two grandchildren, Christine and Timothy Jensema; four step grandchildren, Michael (Ni) Buyze, Tamma (Tom) Eighmy, Jacqueline Buyze, James (Kathy) Buyze; four step great grandchildren, Nathan, Megan, Jonathan, and Andrea Buyze; and two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Neerhof of Pine Haven Christian Home, and Margaret Meerdink of Cedar Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son-in-law, Leon Buyze; three brothers, Dick, Gordon (Ruby) and Chester Neerhof; three sisters-in-law, Mabel (Henry) Lemmenes, Florence (Herbert) Risseeuw, and Alda (Willard) Harmelink; three brothers-in-law, Harry (Gladys), Winifred (Arlene), and Marvin Meerdink. Funeral services will be held at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Thursday evening, May 18, 2006, at 6 pm with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will take place at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 3 pm until the time of the service.
