Edith M. Keck, 100, of Kohler, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, at her home. Edith was born on February 15, 1914, in Tomahawk, daughter of William and Martha (Beaty) Kring. She was a graduate of Tripoli High School. On September 23, 1933, she married Ralph G. Keck in Rhinelander. Ralph passed away on February 13, 1974. Edith was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed nature, the outdoors, canoeing, travel, gardening, entertaining, and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for being a wonderful hostess. Edith is survived by her two daughters, Karen Keck of Kohler and Arlene Hofmann of Austin, TX; her two sons, Jerry (Ruth) Keck of Mayville, Michigan and Garth (Donna) Keck of Winfield, Illinois; six grandchildren, Jodell (Thomas) Gay, Steven (Lynn) Keck, Susan (John) Maler, William (Becky) Ruder, Jessica (John) Graham, and Laura (Larry) Goode; 16 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Edith is also survived by step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, and step great-great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Ralph; three grandchildren; and three brothers, Carl (Myrtle), Elroy, and Truman Kring. Private family services will be held. A memorial fund has been established in Edith's name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice and the Salvation Army.
