Edith Depke

Edith G. Depke, 91, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012, at her home. Edith was born on May 2, 1921, in Wismar, Germany, daughter of William and Else (Luplow) Voss. On February 25, 1941 she married William Depke in Dubuque, IA. William preceded her in death on April 22, 1999. Edith was owner and operator of Depke Shoes in Sheboygan Falls from 1948-1966. Edith was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Edith enjoyed traveling, sheepshead, going out to eat, and nice clothes. Edith is survived by her sister-in-law, Elfriede Depke Nagel of Germany; several cousins; and her dear friends, Hans and Gladys Palm and their family, and Bill and Jane DeVriend, both of Sheboygan Falls. Edith was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 58 years, William. Funeral services to celebrate Edith's life will be held at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Tom Gudmundson officiating. Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 until the time of the service at 5:00 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Edith's name for St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.
