Edith E. Bruggink, 93, of Cedar Grove, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, February 17, 2013 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls. Edith was born on November 20, 1919, in Cedar Grove, daughter of William and Clara (TerMaat) Huibregtse. She was a 1937 graduate of the Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove. On November 17, 1938 she married Marvin Bruggink in Cedar Grove. Marvin preceded her in death in 1969. Edith was employed as a cook at Midway Restaurant for 28 years. Edith was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove and the American Legion Auxiliary. Edith enjoyed flowers and gardening, playing bridge, cooking, baking, and traveling. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Edith is survived by her daughter, Linda VanderJagt of Hartford; one daughter-in-law, Judy Bruggink of Cedar Grove; eight grandchildren, Lori (Donovan) Polzin, Michael (Kim) VanderJagt, Kevin (LuAnn) Bruggink, Brian (Julie) Bruggink, Alannah and Chanise Bruggink, Nannette Vorath, and Nicholas Vorath; 10 great-grandchildren, Kristi (Corey) Pennenberg, Alyssa Polzin, Amber and Michael Stuer, Brooke Erickson, Paige and Cameron Bruggink, Samantha, Logan, and Joey Bruggink, Autumn Greene; one great great grandson Brady Pennenberg; two brothers, Roger (Linda) Huibregtse of Green Bay and Richard (Bobbi) Huibregtse of Venice, FL; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Musebeck of Cedar Grove and Victor Healy of Venice, FL. Edith is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Marvin; her daughter, Sandra (Nicholas) Vorath; her son, James Bruggink; her son-in-law, Lee VanderJagt; and two sisters, Hazel Musebeck and Carol "Pat" Healy. Funeral services to celebrate Edith's life will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with Rev. David VanDixhorn officiating. Burial will take place in Union Cemetery in the Town of Holland. Relatives and friends may call at the Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Saturday from 11:30 am until the time of the service at 1:30 pm. A memorial fund has been established in Edith's name for Pine Haven Christian Communities and Faith Reformed Church.
