Douglas L. Kennell

Douglas Lentz Kennell, formerly of Gettysburg, PA, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Plymouth Health Services, his home of the last 3 years. 

Doug was born August 14, 1951 in Gettysburg, PA, the son of Arthur and Mary Louise (Cole) Kennell. He graduated from Gettysburg High School, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in history from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. 

A manufacturing supervisor, Doug worked in Pennsylvania at Knouse Foods and Pillowtex for over 30 years. 

A historian at heart, Doug enjoyed history documentaries as well as fishing and playing pool. Doug’s life was filled with music, and he had great knowledge about all things rock n’ roll. Above all, he loved to share his love of music with those around him.

Doug is survived by his children: Derek Kennell and Caitlin Kim, both of Milwaukee and 6 grandchildren; Theodore, Lucy, Zoe, Phoebe, Moira and Olivia. He is further survived by his siblings: Elyse Miller, Melinda (Dana) Burgess, Brian Kennell and Dan (Lorie) Kennell; former wife Susan Kennell; other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Rick Miller.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. 

The Wenig Funeral Home – Sheboygan Falls (920-467-3431) and Monahan Funeral Home – Gettysburg (717-334-2414) are assisting the family with arrangements.
