Dorothy A. Verhage, 90, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Monday morning, February 8, 2016, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice Center. Dorothy was born on May 11, 1925, in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, daughter of Otto and Alma (Millert) Schumacher. She attended Sheboygan Falls schools. On October 30, 1948, she married Richard M. Verhage at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sheboygan Falls. Richard passed away on April 13, 1984. Dorothy was employed with Troy Laundry in Sheboygan Falls. Dorothy was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls. She loved to dance and was a member of a square dancing club. Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, flowers, gardening, traveling, and was an avid Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewer fan. Dorothy is survived by her three daughters, Karen (Ali) Amini of Waukesha, Nancy Weber of Appleton, and Cheryl (Mark) O'Keefe of Rice, MN; her son, Dale (Vicky) Verhage of Plymouth; eight grandchildren, Sharla (Jamon) Peterson, Chad (Fiancé Mallory) Amini, Stephanie (C.J.) Schuette, Heather (Scott) Pease, Megan Weber, Jessica Weber, Shannon (Robert) Lutgen, and Mallory (Fiancé Tyler) O'Keefe; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine (Del) Crawford of San Jose, CA and Darlene Rautmann of Sheboygan Falls. Dorothy is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Richard, her parents, her son-in-law, Michael Weber, and two brothers, Elton (Louise) Schumacher and Harold (Mardell) Schumacher; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Rautmann. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at noon (12:00 pm) on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may gather at the church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at noon. A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name.
