Dorothy VanderWeele

Dorothy A. VanderWeele, 93 of Sheboygan Falls, and a resident of Pine Haven Christian Home died Saturday morning, December 22, 2012 at St. Nicholas Hospital. Dorothy was born in Spencer (Marathon County) on July 14, 1919, the daughter of the late Herman and Alma (Mueller) Guetschow. She attended schools in Marshfield and Sheboygan Falls. On June 17, 1939 she married the late Rollin Klein in Sheboygan Falls. Rollin preceded her in death in March 1961. On June 17, 1972, she married the late Harvey VanderWeele in Sheboygan Falls. Harvey preceded her in death on June 12, 2004. Dorothy worked in the engine plant at the Kohler Co. for 16 years before her retirement in 1982. Dorothy was a longtime member at Faith United Methodist Church and belonged to the Ladies Circle. She enjoyed crocheting, needlework, baking, traveling and camping. Dorothy is survived by one son, Richard (Doris) Klein of Sheboygan, a daughter-in-law, Alta Klein of Washington, a step daughter, Sue (Gary) Dulmes of Sheboygan Falls; a step son-in-law, Gary (Eileen) Wightman of Plymouth; eleven grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her first and second husband, two sons, DuWayne Klein and an infant Darwin Klein; two step daughters, Marjorie Richardson and Virginia Wightman; one sister Adeline (Paul) Akright; and one brother, Fritz ( Nora) Guetschow. A funeral to celebrate Dorothy's life will take place at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 11 am with the Rev Donald Drollinger officiating. Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park in the Town of Sheboygan. Friends and family will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Wednesday from 9am until the time of the service.
