Dorothy H. Schaafs, 86, Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2010 at her home. Dorothy was born on April 18, 1923 in Sheboygan Falls, daughter of the late Louis and Elsie (Boeckmann) Kohlhagen. She was a 1941 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School and attended St. Mary Hospital School of Nursing. On March 2, 1946 she married Lawrence A. Schaafs in Sheboygan Falls. Lawrence preceded her in death on February 11, 2003. Dorothy was a homemaker that enjoyed sewing, canning and camping. She will always be remembered for her famous German Potato Salad and Cheese Tortes. Dorothy also enjoyed traveling, including visiting all the States except Alaska. Dorothy was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls and a member of the American Legion Auxillary in Sheboygan Falls. Survivors include three daughters, Donna (Jack) Felch of Chicago, IL, Karen (Kerry) Mueller and Susan (Greg) Alfonsi both of Sheboygan Falls; six grandchildren, Andrea (Curt) Roffers, Kristin (Mark) Janecek, Erin (fiancé T.J. Kramer) Mueller, Lauren (Joe) Koch, Tony (Liz) Alfonsi, and Kelly (friend Ryan Cook) Alfonsi; three great-grandchildren, Megan, Connor, and Natalie Roffers; one sister, Lydia Krause of Rhinelander; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Kohlhagen of Sheboygan Falls and Lorraine Sweet of Sheboygan, one brother-in-law Clarence Billmann of Sheboygan Falls; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, brothers and sisters-in-law, Andrew (Molly) Kohlhagen, Norman Kohlhagen, Martin (Norma) Kohlhagen, Dorothy Billmann, brothers-in-law Gerald Sweet and Harold Krause.Reception:Blessed Trinity Parish327 Giddings AvenueSheboygan Falls, WI 53085
