Dorothy Holden

Dorothy H. Holden, 98, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday morning, May 3, 2013, at Pine Haven Christian Home Residential Center. Dorothy was born on August 2, 1914, in Sheboygan, daughter of William and Minnie (Schoening) Kubel. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School. On October 30, 1935, she married Frank P. Holden in Sheboygan Falls. Frank passed away on January 4, 2003. Together, they owned and operated Holden Machine Company, Inc. in Sheboygan Falls for 40 years. Dorothy was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls where she was active in the Ladies Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Sheboygan Falls Snowmobile Association. Dorothy and Frank loved spending time at their year round home on Legend Lake. She enjoyed fishing, card playing, reading, and knitting. Dorothy enjoyed golf and bowling well into her 80's. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Betsy (George) Deeley of Salem, NC; her two sons, Danny (Dee) Holden of Phoenix, AZ and Michael (Mary) Holden of Sheboygan Falls; five grandchildren, Scott (Dee Dee) Holden, Kevin (Deb) Holden, Robb (Sabrina) Holden, Shawn (Rebecca) Deeley, and Felicia (Dale) Karls; and eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, Frank, and one granddaughter, Courtney Deeley. A private family graveside service will be held at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name for the Gathering Place at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
