Dorothy Gurney

Dorothy I. Gurney, 75, of Sheboygan Falls passed on Tuesday morning, June 10, 2008 at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. Dorothy was born on November 26, 1932 in Athboy, South Dakota, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Arthorfer) Portschy. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1950. On August 29, 1953 she married Charles H. Gurney Sr. in Sheboygan Falls. Dorothy enjoyed playing bingo, riding her bike, going to the park, crocheting, and spending time with her children. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Gruenke of Sheboygan, Bonnie Thorne of Sheboygan Falls; four sons, Charles Jr. of New Hampshire, Edwin of Alabama, Mark of Sheboygan, and Glenn Gurney of Sheboygan Falls; seven grandchildren, Brian, Sarah, and David Gurney, Ashley and Austin Gruenke, Eric Sagal, and Jacob Thorne; and two great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by a son, Brian Gurney; two sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday, June 14, 2008 at 10 am. Burial will follow at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Friday from 5:30-8 pm, and on Saturday from 9 am until the time of the service at 10 am.
