Dorothy Dirkse

Dorothy V. Dirkse, 97, of Sheboygan, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. Dorothy was born on April 27, 1917, in Sheboygan, to Allan and Esther (Handrow) Voss. She attended school in Sheboygan. Dorothy married Allan Dirkse and he preceded her in death in June of 2002. Dorothy devoted her life to raising and caring for her family. Dorothy was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Oostburg and was involved with Christian School Circle. She enjoyed reading, living at the lake, taking walks on the beach, traveling to Arizona and spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Trudi (Michael) Laganowski of Oostburg and her son, Al (Terry) Dirkse of Sheboygan Falls; 5 grandchildren, Allan Laganowski, AJ (Jackie) Laganowski, Michael (Rosa) Laganowski, Denise (Jeff) Schreurs and Doreen (Keith) Sargent; 2 step grandchildren, Jennie (Ty) Weinhold and Amanda (Matthew) Ziertzer; 15 great-grandchildren, Junior, Alyssa, Lauren, Mason, Jayden, Rio, Devan, Kedan, Raven, Reina, Crew, Leira, Dayton, Matthew and Savanna; 6 step-great grandchildren, Jack, Carter, Ellison, Chase, MJ and Aspen; 1 great-great granddaughter, Elizabeth. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in by her husband, Allan, her parents, one daughter, Jane Fairchild, one grandson, Tom Jackson, great-granddaughter, Shyann, and her brother, Harvey Voss. Private family services are being held. A memorial fund in Dorothy's name is being established.
