Dorothy Buechner

Dorothy Buechner, 81, of 3603 Stone Drive, Sheboygan, passed away after a brief illness on Friday May 22, 2009 at her home. Dorothy was born on August 3, 1927 in Butternut, WI, daughter of the late Albert Ehmke Jr. and Bertha (Andre) Ehmke. On May 7, 1949 she married Roland Buechner in Butternut, WI. Dorothy and Roland recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Dorothy was a homemaker that enjoyed cooking, canning, picking berries, gardening, fishing, and camping. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and going up north to the Butternut area. She was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Sheboygan. Dorothy was also active in Joy Club, Braille Club, and Life Light Bible Study. She and her husband helped start and were charter members of two other Lutheran Churches in Kenosha and Billings, NY. Survivors include her husband Roland; four daughters, Ruth (Steve) Norlander of Sheboygan, Shirley Vakos of Racine, Gail (Gene) Myres of Denver, CO, Linda (Earl) Stenger of Fredericktown, OH; one son Roland Buechner Jr. of Richmond, VA; eleven grandchildren, Corey (Penny) Norlander, Adam (Bobbie) Norlander, Paul (Fiance' Teresa) Norlander, Emily Vakos, Sarah Vakos, Peter Vakos, Melissa (Jeff) Stadtherr, Steve Myres, Jason Myres, Naomi (Mike) Heckman, Andrea Stenger; ten great grandchildren; two brothers, Gustav (Rita) Ehmke of Kenosha, James (Roxy) Ehmke of Gillette, WY; one Brother-in-law, James Osnes of Burke, SD.; and nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Shirley Osnes. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 26, 2009 at 11:00 am at Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Sheboygan with the Rev. Bryan Osladil, pastor officiating. Burial will take place at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 until the times of services. A memorial fund has been established in her name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
