Doris DeMaster

Doris Mae DeMaster, 90, of Oostburg,WI, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 16, 2017, at the Covenant Home of Pine Haven Christian Communities.Doris was born on October 30, 1926 in Town of Lima, WI to Harold and Amy (Schreurs) Bruggink. She was a 1944 graduate of Waldo High School and continued her education at Sheboygan County Normal School. On November 14, 1947, Doris Bruggink married Ralph DeMaster in Hingham, WI. Ralph preceded Doris in death on April 13, 2013. Doris was a dedicated wife and loving mother while managing a busy household of six children. Doris and her husband were charter members of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where she served as Sunday school teacher for over 35 years. She was a member of the Campus Life Board of Directors, frequent Bible study leader, active volunteer for the Prison Ministry and Fellowship, Salvation Army and the evangelism booth at the Holland Festival. Doris enjoyed gardening, crocheting, knitting, and was an accomplished seamstress. Doris cherished spending time with family.Doris is survived by four daughters, Kay (Don) Edwards of Mequon, Beth (Gary Levinson) Richardson of Texas; Lynne (Michael) Zimmermann of Oostburg, and Jean (Gary) Debbink of Burlington; two sons, Dennis (Margaret) DeMaster of Beaver Dam and Mark (Brigitte) DeMaster of Cedar Grove; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two sisters, Beverly Winninghoff, Lola (Ken) Lindow; four brothers, Roland (Kathy) Bruggink, Allen (Ruth) Bruggink, Wayne (Carol) Bruggink, and Harold (Suzzi) Bruggink; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph DeMaster; an infant son, John Ralph; great-granddaughter, Hope Debbink; two brothers, Eugene Bruggink, and Richard Bruggink. A funeral service to celebrate Doris' life will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at 10am at Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove with B.J. Hilbelink officiating. An internment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Cedar Grove.Relatives and friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, from 4pm until 8pm and again at church on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 9am until the time of service at 10am.A memorial fund is being established in her name for Campus Life, Faith Reformed, and Pine Haven Christian Communities.
