Donna M. Dekker, 66, of Hingham, died on Wednesday evening, April 8, 2015 at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Donna was born in Sheboygan on August 28, 1948, the daughter of the late Louis and Helen (Jensema) Wassink. She graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1966 and then attended Lakeshore Technical Institute where she studied accounting. On April 18, 1970 she married Roger Dekker in Sheboygan Falls. Donna was self-employed, operating a cleaning business for the past 27 years. Donna was a member of the Hingham Reformed Church where she was an active volunteer and participated in the Mission Circle and was a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, knitting, traveling and spending summer family vacations up north with her family. She and Roger enjoyed attending their children's and grandchildren's school and church activities. Donna is survived by her husband, Roger; one daughter, Kris (Brad) Mentink of Hingham; two sons, Kevin (Jessica) Dekker and Ryan (Andrea) Dekker, both of Oostburg; seven grandchildren, Kayla (fiancé Tyler Weavers) and Rachel Mentink, Carson, Anthony, and Josie Dekker, Kelsie and Elise Dekker; two sisters, Darla (John) Hutchison and Kathy (Scott) Tenpas, both of Sheboygan Falls; and one brother-in-law, Ronald (Joan) Dulmes of Sheboygan Falls. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Wassink and Helen Meinhardt; and parents-in-law, George Dekker, Harley Dulmes, Arno and Lenore Schneider. A funeral to celebrate Donna's life will be held at the Hingham Reformed Church on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10:30 am with the Rev. Steven J Bakker officiating. A family service will precede at 10:15 in the choir room. Burial will follow at Hingham Cemetery in the Town of Lima. Family and friends will gather at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Sunday from 2-6, and on Monday, at church from 9:30 am until the time of the service at 10:30 am.
