Donald W. Veenendaal, 86, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Cedar Grove Gardens. Donald was born April 16, 1927, in Gibbsville to Wallace and Florence (Kooman) Veenendaal. He was a 1945 graduate of Oostburg High School. Donald served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-46 during WW II. On August 25, 1950 Donald married Eunice J. Rauwerdink in Cedar Grove. Eunice passed away February 5, 2004. Donald worked as service technician for Wisconsin Electric for over 30 years, retiring in 1988. Donald was a charter member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove where he served as elder (clerk and vice-president), deacon, Sunday school teacher, church custodian, and sang in the church choir. He was also a member of the Cedar Grove Village Board, American Legion Post #338 where he served as Post Commander, volunteer for the Cedar Grove Fire Department, Kiwanis Club, prison ministry, Pine Haven Chorus, and served as a counselor for RCYF. Donald loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, card playing, woodworking, and golf. Donald is survived by: three daughters, Nancy (Russ) Masbruch of Sheboygan, Donna (Ken) Soerens of Cedar Grove, and Kay (Dennis) Runge of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Janelle (Robert Schmitt) Masbruch, Laura Masbruch, Holly (Jonathan) Risseeuw, and Jennifer (fiance Adam Riese) Soerens; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Schmitt; four sisters, Edith Damkot of Oostburg, Carol Jensema of Oostburg, Muriel (Wayne) Reimes of Gibbsville, and Beverly (Dennis) Diener of Oostburg; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
