Donald Dale Schreurs, 80, of Cedar Grove, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Don was born to Earl and Alda (Bloemers) Schreurs on September 13, 1944, in Sheboygan. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1962. Don went on to serve his country in the US Army from 1962-1963.
On October 15, 1966, Don was united in marriage to Jean Vander Jagt in Cedar Grove.
Don worked and later owned Cedar Grove Lumber from 1979-1992 before working at Oostburg Lumber until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Faith Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. Don was a lifetime member and officer of Snow Runners Club Ltd. Don enjoyed riding his Harley and camping with family and friends. He was a classic car enthusiast and avid Rocket football supporter.
Don is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean; children, Kristy (Daniel) Weiss of Cedar Grove, Jodi (Kenneth) Hilbelink of Waldo, Daniel (Melissa) Schreurs; grandchildren, Brooke (Parker) Lemke and Joshua (Hannah) Weiss, Morgan (Jared) Reklaitis and Reid (Elizabeth) Hilbelink, Addyson and Jaxson Schreurs; great-grandchildren, Harleigh and Cohen Lemke, Shae Reklaitis. He is further survived by his sister, Doris (Larry) Wieberdink; sisters-in-law, Charlene Schreurs, Karen Schreurs, Linda Vander Jagt, Karen Vander Jagt; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Pauline (Gerald) Katsma; brothers, Glenn Schreurs and Myles Schreurs; brothers-in-law, Lee Vander Jagt, Mark Vander Jagt; and sister-in-law, Jane (Rodney) Teunissen.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Faith Reformed Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be designated in Don’s name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
