Donald Lohr, 86, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on January 9, 2022, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Donald was born on April 3, 1935, to Frank & Hilda (Clausen) Lohr and graduated from Central High School and later served his country in the United States Army, serving in Japan. On June 12, 1954, Don married Janice Kornetzke. Janice preceded Don in death in 1993. On March 26, 2000, Don joined Barbara Peterson in marriage.
Don served as a firefighter for the city of Sheboygan for over 30 years before his retirement in 1990. Don was an avid hunter and fisher-even traveling to Canada and Argentina for various expeditions. He was an active member of the YMCA, and his sportsman club, enjoyed golfing and spending time up north at his hunting shack in Florence, WI. Above all, Don found great joy in spending time with his family and friends. He was a caring husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Lohr of Sheboygan Falls; daughters, Linda Wilson of Sheboygan and Susan (Scott) Senkbiel of Sheboygan; son, Robert Lohr of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Eric & Emily Wilson, Aaron & Adam Senkbiel, Ben (Darcy) & Molly Lohr; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn & Hannah; brother, Frank (Marlyss) Lohr; Barbara’s children, Steve Simonich, Amy (Todd) Simonich; Barbara’s grandchildren, Brek, Haven, and Jada; brothers-in-law, Ken Kornetzke, Robert (Sandra) Peterson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Don is preceded in death by his first wife, Janice Lohr; his parents, Frank & Hilda Lohr; son-in-law, William Wilson; and a sister, Lillian (John) Conto.
Visitation will take place at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Sheboygan on Saturday, April 2nd, from 11:00 am until the time of Mass at 12:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Don’s name.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the Sheboygan Falls Fire Department and First Responders and the staff of Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their kind care and compassion.
