Donald W. Humphrey, 92, of Sheboygan Falls died early Thursday morning, July 3, 2008 at Pine Haven Christian Home where he had resided since December of 2006. Don was born on March 3, 1916 in the Town of Lima, the son of the late Wilfred and Jennie (Ramaker) Humphrey. He attended the Dye Road Grade School and graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1934. On June 25, 1938 he married the late Margaret Holden in Sheboygan Falls. Margaret preceded Don in death on November 1, 2006. Don was the parts and service manager for Seefeld Dodge in Sheboygan before his retirement in 1980. Following his retirement, he worked for Sheboygan Chrysler and was a funeral assistant for the Huehns Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls for 18 years until 1998. Don was well known throughout the Sheboygan Falls area for his bike repair shop, at his home, on the corner of Buffalo and Elm Streets. Don was a devoted lifelong member at Falls Community Church where he served as a deacon and custodian. He enjoyed caring for his house and yard, feeding the birds, repairing bicycles and lawnmowers, playing cards with friends, and traveling. Don is survived by two daughters, Betty (Curt) Weinaug of Appleton, Jean (David) Veldman of Plymouth; one son, Allen (Kay) Humphrey of Sheboygan Falls; eleven grandchildren, Paul (Cyndi) Weinaug, David Weinaug, Todd (Andra) Humphrey, Brian (Shelly) Humphrey, Mike (Stacy) Humphrey, Cheryl (Tom) Riemer, Jennie Humphrey, Kevin (Jennifer) Humphrey, Jesse (Amie) Veldman, Neil (Amy) Veldman, and Cory (Alicia) Veldman; 26 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Humphrey of Plymouth; nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; one brother, Leon Humphrey; two sisters, Mildred (Earl Littlefield Sr. and Edwin Leverenz), Vallie (Ralph) DeSmith; and two great grandchildren, Joshua Weinaug and Brandon Humphrey. Funeral services will be held at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls at 2 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2008 with the Rev. Marty Carney officiating. Burial will take place at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wenig Funeral Home in Sheboygan Falls on Saturday from 11 am until the time of the service at 2 pm.
