Donald T. Ebbers, 75, of N2594 County Road GW, Oostburg died early on Sunday morning, January 17, 2010 with his family at his side while at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center where he had resided since November. Donald was born on July 31, 1934 in the Town of Lima, the son of the late Willis and Henrietta (Wilterdink) Ebbers. He graduated from Oostburg High School in 1952. Don served in the US Army from 1954-56. On April 11, 1959 he married RuthAnn DeMaster in Oostburg. Don worked at Dean Foods in Cedar Grove for 18 years before his retirement in 1997. Previously he worked at the Adell Coop for 18 years. Don was a lifelong member of the Hingham Reformed Church where he served as deacon, elder, Sunday School Superintendent, member of the choir, on various task forces and participated in several couple Bible studies. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball, baseball, softball, hunting, and trapping. He loved animals, gardening, music, fixing things, and traveling. Don was a family man, faithfully supporting his children and grandchildren in their various activities. Don is survived by his wife, RuthAnn; two daughters, LuAnn (Kevin) Bruggink of Oostburg, and Lynnette (Randy) Johnson of Elkhart Lake; five grandchildren, Paige and Cameron Bruggink, TJ, Grace, and Eli Johnson; one sister, Nancy DeMaster of Fond du Lac; one brother, Wayne (Mary) Ebbers of Oostburg; two sisters-in-law, Charlotte (John) Kappers of Oostburg and Rosemary (Dan) LeMahieu of Cascade. Don is also survived by nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Henrietta Ebbers; his parents-in-law, Melvin and Dena DeMaster; and a brother-in-law, Lee DeMaster. Funeral services will be held to celebrate Don's life at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the Hingham Reformed Church with the Rev. Steven Bakker officiating. A family service will precede at 1:15 pm in the choir room. Burial and military honors will follow at the Hingham Cemetery. Friends may greet the family at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg on Tuesday from 3-8 pm, and on Wednesday, at church, from 12:30 until the time of the service at 1:30 pm.
