Donald Dicke

Donald Robert Dicke, 88, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2017, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice with his wife by his side, where he resided for the past six days. Donald was born on February 14, 1929, in Sheboygan Falls, WI to Alvah and Corabelle (Fiedler) Dicke. He was a 1947 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On December 27, 1975, Donald was united in marriage to Pauline Heilmann. Donald was employed at Schultz Save-O for 38 years as a Truck Driver until his retirement in 1989. His love of playing the tuba and passion for music led him to begin his musical career with the Polka Boys at the age of 16. Throughout the next 50 years, he played with various bands in the area including the Polka Rascals. His greatest joy was sharing the love of music with all those around him.  Donald was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls where he served as an usher.  He was also a member of the Two-Cylinder Club. Donald enjoyed flying airplanes, reading, computers, watching the birds, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed taking pictures and never left home without his camera. Donald also loved spending time near the water while enjoying boating, fishing, and swimming. He enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors, driving them in parades and showing them at the Wings & Wheels show.  Donald is survived by his loving wife, Pauline Dicke of Sheboygan Falls; four sons, Robert (Elena) Dicke of Waukegan, IL, William (Susan) Dicke of Sheboygan Falls, Peter (Charlene) Dicke of Sheboygan, David Dicke of Sheboygan;12 grandchild; 12 great-grandchildren; two nephews, Derrick Dicke, Dwight Dicke; three nieces, Denise Dicke, Dawn (Curt) Buhler, Danette Mary (Joe) St. Andre; a brother-in-law, Wayne (Duffy) VerVelde; family friends, Dennis (Peggy) Watson; and special friend, Dawn Radue.  Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Alvah & Corabelle Dicke; brother, Delbert (Carole) Dicke; sister-in-law, Connie VerVelde; niece, Debra Dicke; and parents-in-law, Leonard & Veronica Heilmann. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Donald 's life will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 11am at Blessed Trinity in Sheboygan Falls in with Fr. Anthony Schueller officiating. A burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls. Relatives and friends may greet the family at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name for Sheboygan Falls Memorial Library and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Sharon S.
