Donald Danks

Donald D. Danks, age 86, Sheboygan Falls, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2014 at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan. He was born May 29, 1928 in New London, WI, the son of Charles and Martha (Klatt) Danks. The family moved to Sheboygan Falls in 1928. Don graduated from Sheboygan Falls High School in 1946. He attended St. Norbert's College and Marquette University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Don was employed by Curt G. Joa, Inc. in Sheboygan Falls and Florida, until 1964, then Hayssen Mfg Co. for 26 years, retiring in 1990. Don married Mary Kolbeck in 1953, and she passed away in 1959. In 1961 he married Carmen Shallow. He was an active member of Blessed Trinity Parish, where he served on the Parish council for 6 years and 5 years as the secretary. He also was a member of the Building and Grounds Committee and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, where he served as Conference President for 6 years. Don enjoyed woodworking, camping and loved his Model A. Don is survived by his wife, Carmen of Sheboygan Falls; six children, Michael (Carmi Parker) of Everett, WA, Tom of Vancouver, WA, Jerry of Milwaukee, Anne (Jeff) of Del Mar, CA, Julie of Muskego and Barbara (Lynn Weir) of Homewood, IL; and seven grandchildren. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Rev. Arthur, Raymond, Robert and Richard; and many sisters in-law and borthers-in-law. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 5pm at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Monday at the church from 3pm until the time of service at 5pm. A memorial fund has been established in Donald's name for St. Vincent de Paul.
